En nombre del pueblo saharaui, del gobierno de la República Saharaui y en el mío propio, permítame expresarle nuestra sincera felicitación por su elección como nuevo presidente de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos así como al hermano pueblo mexicano por depositar su confianza en Usted para que juntos emprendéis una nueva etapa de trabajo en pro del beneficio de su país.

Aprovecho esta ocasión para reiterarle nuestra disposición de continuar reforzando los lazos de amistad que unen nuestros dos pueblos. Le renuevo, asimismo, nuestro reconocimiento por la firme posición de su país en defensa de los valores de paz y justicia mundiales, y en particular el derecho del pueblo saharaui a la autodeterminación y a la independencia.

Nouakchott, July 04, 2018 (SPS) – President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO Brahim Gali said that the Sahrawi people draw their strength from their fair cause, the legitimacy of their struggle and their legendary resistance in the face of the Moroccan occupier.

In an interview with France 24, on the sidelines of the 31st Summit of African Union Heads of State and Government whose works wrapped up Monday in Nouakchott (Mauritania), President Gali expressed his deep consternation at the hindrances made by the Moroccan occupier to impede any progress in order to reach a lasting solution to the issue of Western Sahara.”

After the promulgation of the resolution 2414 of the Security Council, the Frente POLISARIO underlined its readiness to start direct negotiations and without prerequisites with Morocco to reach a solution guaranteeing the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination.

Africa is a strong supporter of the Sahrawi people’s fair cause because it suffered from the throes of colonialism and occupation, said the Sahrawi President, pointing out that the report of Chairman of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat is “objective, balanced and reflects the reality of the Sahrawi issue.” SPS

President Brahim Gali urges AU to be «more effective» in for a solution that guarantees Western Sahara independence | Sahara Press Service

Nouakchott, July 03, 2018 (SPS) – the  President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, has urged  Monday in Nouakchott (Mauritania) the African Union (AU) to be «more effective» in the search for a solution that ensures the independence of Western Sahara.

«The African Union must be more effective and present to guarantee the independence of Western Sahara,» he told the press, in the framework of the 31 Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the UA

Brahim Gali added that the AU will have to collaborate with the UN Security Council for an evolution of this issue with a view to launching direct negotiations between the Saharawi Republic and Morocco.

Referring to the creation of a mechanism at the level of Heads of State of the AU to reach a solution to the conflict between the Saharawi Republic and Morocco, he indicated that this (mechanism) should follow this cause and coordinate with the UN to end » the last colony in Africa «. SPS
