President felicitates Algerian counterpart on Independence and Youth Day | Sahara Press Service

Bir Lehlou (liberated zones), July 05, 2018 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary General of the the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali has sent a letter of congratulation to the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, on the occasion of the 56nd anniversary of independence and youth day.

In his letter, a copy of which obtained by SPS, President Brahim Gali expressed, on behalf of the people and government of the Saharawi Republic (SADR), warmest congratulations and salutations, wishing more progress, development and prosperity for the brotherly people of Algeria.

The Saharawi president described the event as the “decisive turning point” not only in the history of Algeria, but also in the history of the region and the peoples who are struggling for freedom and independence in Africa and across globe.

He, in this respect, recalled to Algeria’s adherence to the principles and premises of the glorious November 1st Revolution, through its strong defense and deep-rooted conviction of the ideals of freedom, self-determination and independence of all oppressed and occupied peoples.

President Brahim Gali went on saying that the Saharawi people, who were victims of a barbaric aggression by its neighbour, the Kingdom of Morocco, records with appreciation and gratitude Algeria’s positions of support and solidarity with their just struggle for freedom and independence, in accordance with the Charter and the resolutions of the African Union and the United Nations. Alger, 26 juin 2018 (SPS) Le président de l’Assemblée populaire nationale algérienne (APN), Said Bouhadja, a réitéré lundi la «position constante» de l’Algérie vis à vis de la cause «juste» du Sahara Occidental et du droit du peuple sahraoui à l’autodétermination, soutenant que le Parlement algérien, en tant que modèle de solidarité avec la cause sahraouie, avait soutenu cette question qui s’inscrit dans la cadre de la «décolonisation».

Lors d’une rencontre avec une délégation de la République sahraouie, présidée par le vice-président du Conseil national sahraoui à l’occasion de l’ouverture de la 5e session de formation destinée au profit de députés et de hauts cadres du Conseil sahraoui et d’Administrations centrales de l’Etat sahraoui, M. Bouhadja a réitéré les «positions constantes de l’Algérie vis à vis de la cause sahraouie juste et du droit du peuple sahraoui à l’autodétermination».

Il a souligné dans ce sens que le Parlement algérien en tant que modèle de solidarité avec la cause sahraouie avait soutenu cette question qui s’inscrit dans le cadre de la décolonisation, conformément aux résolutions du Conseil de sécurité international et de la Charte des Nations unies».

Le président de l’APN a évoqué en outre les moyens de soutenir la cause sahraouie dans le cadre du processus d’édification des institutions de l’Etat sahraouie, de l’activation de la coopération et de solidarité dans le cadre de la diplomatie parlementaire et l’action de la commission d’amitié parlementaire algéro-sahrouie.

La rencontre a été marquée par la présence de l’ambassadeur sahraoui à Alger, Abdelkader Taleb Omar,  du vice-président de l’APN, Mohamed Messaoudja, et la présidente de la commission d’amitié parlementaire algéro-sahraouie, Saida Bounab. (SPS)
