Madrid, September 7, 2018 (SPS) – Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Fernando Martín Valenzuela Marzo, reiterated the position of his country in support of the efforts of the UN Secretary General’s Envoy for Western Sahara to find a lasting solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, during a meeting with the Delegate of the Polisario Front in Spain, Jira Bulahi.
During the meeting the Sahrawi representative reiterated the Polisario Front’s willingness to sit at the negotiating table, provided that they lead to respect for resolutions that allow the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and completion of the decolonization process of the last colony in Africa.
She urged Spain to respect the judgment of the European Court of Justice and to call on the member countries of the European Union to refrain from the illegal exploitation of the natural resources in the occupied territories of Western Sahara. (SPS)

Shaheed Al-Hafed, September 7, 2018 (SPS) – The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front reiterated Thursday readiness of the Saharawi party to cooperate with the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to reach a solution that guarantees the right of self-determination for the Saharawi people, as called for by the Security Council resolution of last April.
In a related context, the Bureau also expressed willingness to cooperate with the African Union mechanism to support the United Nations effort to find a solution to the conflict by completing the decolonization of the last colony in the African continent.
The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front held a meeting on Thursday at the Presidency of the Republic, chaired by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, devoted to reviewing the latest developments of the national issue as well as preparations for social entry 2018-2019. Accords UE-Maroc : le Front Polisario communique sur la mission officielle d’eurodéputés en visite au Sahara occidental – Association des Amis de la R.A.S.D.
« Ce 3 septembre, et pour deux jours, une mission du Parlement européen se rend sur le territoire occupé du Sahara occidental pour s’assurer une meilleure connaissance de la situation. Le Front POLISARIO salue cet effort, qui montre la volonté de réunir le plus d’informations possibles avant de prendre les décisions. »
Ainsi commence le communiqué de la Représentation du Front Polisario pour l’Europe, qui ne manque pas toutefois d’indiquer les limites que la mission rencontrera, notamment du fait qu’elle s’abstient de visiter la partie du territoire du Sahara occidental libérée de l’occupation marocaine, ainsi que les camps de réfugiés où vivent la grande majorité des Sahraouis.

Moroccan institutions have no right to speak for Western Sahara people, says Sidati | Sahara Press Service
Brussels, September 3, 2018 (SPS) – Saharawi Deputy Minister for Europe Mohamed Sidati on Sunday warned the institutions under Moroccan law against speaking on behalf of Western Sahara people, as the occupied towns of Al-Ayun and Dakhla are bracing to welcome a European Parliament delegation.
«A European parliament delegation will pay a two-day visit to the occupied territory of Western Sahara, from Monday, for a better understanding of the situation,» Sidati said in a press statement.
«The Polisario Front welcomes the efforts that show the will to gather as much information as possible before taking any decision.»
Sidati said he wanted to recall three essential points.
«The Kingdom of Morocco, a military occupying power, under the 4th Geneva Convention, has no sovereignty over the territory (of Western Sahara)»
The authorizations they think they can give, especially to get access to the territory, are worthless under the international law and the European law,» the Saharawi diplomat said.
He added that the interlocutors, under Moroccan law, the mission will meet there cannot, hypothetically, give the latest opinion in the name of Western Sahara people.
The European Commission, to implement the EU-Morocco agreement, should have «the consent of Western Sahara people» that are sovereign, as underlined in Paragraph 106 of the ruling the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) issued 21 December 2016.
The Saharawi minister underlined that the territory liberated from Moroccan occupation is part of Western Sahara, home to the vast majority of Saharawi people.
«So, the European Parliament mission cannot have an accurate picture unless it also goes to the liberated Western Sahara territory, home to more than 170,000 people living in refugee camps, and who feel resentful about EU support to the military occupation of the territory,» Sidati said.
As the European Parliament, he stressed, should not be contented with partial information, the Polisario Front renew its invitation. (SPS)

La Asociación de Amigos del Pueblo Saharaui de Toledo despide a sus niñas y niños saharauis – CEAS-Sahara
El pasado jueves 30 de agosto la Asociación de Amigos del Pueblo Saharaui de Toledo llevó a cabo una fiesta de despedida para los niños y niñas que han pasado el verano en la capital castellano-manchega y que se celebró en la Biblioteca de Castilla-La Mancha. El payaso Fito-Klown, que ofreció un espectáculo divertido y ameno, fue el gran protagonista al hacer disfrutar tanto a mayores como a pequeños/as.
Un año más, se acaban las vacaciones y las “estrellas del Sáhara” vuelven a los campamentos el próximo martes, 4 de septiembre, después de un verano de “ilusiones compartidas” por todas y todos.
Un verano en el que los niños y las niñas saharauis han podido vivir una realidad diferente a la de los campamentos de personas refugiadas de Tinduf mejorado su alimentación, conociendo otra cultura, o recibiendo atención médica de calidad, entre otras muchas cosas. Sin embargo, lo más importante es que estas pequeñas y pequeños embajadores saharauis de nuevo nos han ayudado a dar a visibilidad a la causa de su pueblo.
Una vez más este programa de sensibilización política y social, ha permitido que nos colemos en los hogares de nuevas familias, y nos ha permitido comprobar la solidaridad de la ciudadanía toledana.
